Born January 3rd 1922 in Garnett, Kansas. Bill served in the 24th Infantry Division in the Philippines and survived 3 different beach assault landings on the island of Leyte, Luzon and Corregidor. He was awarded 2 purple hearts, a bronze star and a silver star for valor in combat. But was very humble about his service.

Bill worked for the Bakersfield Californian for many years as a Linotype Operator and pursued flying for pleasure and business. He was a flight and aerobatics instructor to many in Kern County and continued flying into his late 80's. He operated Scott Air Service at Meadows Field for over 30 years.

He enjoyed snow skiing, racquetball, golf, tennis and racing horces.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years Debbie, his children, Dawna & Michael Adams, Merry Scott, Kip & Kelley Scott and many beloved relatives and friends.

Committal Service with full Military Honors is scheduled for March 13, 2018 - 10:45 am at Bakersfield National Cemetery 30332 East Bear Mtn. Blvd. Arvin, CA 93203
