Verna Mae Jackson November 8, 1962 - February 19, 2018 Born in Los Angeles to parents Oscar and Mary Jo Moss. Verna was raised with her siblings, James, Matthew and Cindy in Compton and Shafter, graduating from Shafter High in 1980. In 1985 Verna married Ron Jackson and had one daughter, Billie Jo. Verna was blessed yet again having two sons, Seth in 1996 and Corin in 1997. In 2017, Verna became a doting Grandmother to Athena Mae, the newest love of her life. Anyone who knew Verna, knew how much she loved life and everyone in it. Verna was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Verna’s unique creativity is like no other and will never be forgotten. After fighting a long battle against cancer Verna can rest peacefully. We can only imagine Verna in heaven with her Cricket creating signs for every occasion. Verna is preceded in death by her Father Oscar Moss, Husband Ron Jackson and Sister Cindy Davis. Services will be held on March 10, 2018, 11:00am at Salvation Army Worship Center, 4417 Wilson Rd. Bakersfield, CA 93309.
