Tony Calvillo

Tony G. Calvillo 1937-2016

Born in Bakersfield, Tony lived his life here except to serve in the Air Force. He retired from the Kern County Fire Department after 31 years of service to the county.

Born to parents who legally emigrated to the U.S. from Mexico, Tony was raised to embrace and become a proud American. Tony graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1955, where he played football, ran track and served as the school's editor.

After high school he met Rebecca, his future wife of 58 years. He is survived by her and their sons, John and Joseph. He was preceeded in passing by their daughter Alice.

Tony was a competative shooter, avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed model trains and politics. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 25th at 0915am, at the Bakersfield National Cemetary in Arvin, California.
