Celebrating the Extraordinary Life of Tim A. Burchett 1977 -2026
On Wednesday morning, the world lost a truly remarkable soul. Timothy "Tim" Burchett passed away at the age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of pure resilience, love, and triumph.
Born with multiple handicaps, Tim was a miracle from the very beginning. Though doctors gently warned his mother that he might not live past three months, Tim had a different plan. Defying every medical statistic and surviving numerous surgeries, he proved that boundaries were meant to be broken. Against all odds, Tim at a very young age learned to walk, read, and write, ultimately graduating from North High School with honors his teachers proudly stood at his side handing him a beautiful award trophy, and the entire school stood clapping and cheering.
Tim was incredibly bright and tech-savvy. He spent much time on his computer, beautifully documenting his unique journey in an autobiography he was writing. When he and his beloved sister, Kristy, lost their parents, their family wrapped them in love; their aunts stepped in to care for them, and Kristy became Tim’s dedicated caregiver.
Despite his physical challenges, Tim was the protective anchor of his sister, completely managing the household finances for himself and Kristy. He and Kristy shared an unbreakable bond with Kristy by his side. Tim loved nothing more than zooming around in his electric wheelchair—taking his sister shopping, to pay bills, out to the movies, out to eat, or running errands to help out his grandma Shirley and his Aunt Barbara. Tim would read his bible to Kristy and keeping his Mothers promise for her kids to be ready to meet her in heaven. One of his saying he used a lot was " In Heaven There Will Be No More Pain and Suffering" and an Eternity of Peace"
Tim was a gentle, brilliant, and deeply kind man. To know him was to love him, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He proved that a life is not defined by its limitations, but by the depth of its love and the strength of its spirit.
Tim was greeted in heaven by his parents, Ernest and Donna Johnson Burchett; his brother, Andrew; his grandparents, Harvey and Shirley Johnson, and Bill and Viola Burchett; and his uncles, Stephen and David Johnson.
His beautiful memory will be cherished and kept alive by his sister and best friend Kristy; his devoted aunts, Sharon Underwood and Barbara (Tim) Gonzales; his uncles, Gerald (Terri) Johnson and Gary (Michele) Johnson; and a host of loving cousins, neighbors, and friends.
