Sharon Lee Zuccaro

d. March 24, 2018

Sharon Lee Zuccaro passed away on March 24, 2018 after a battle with illness. She was surrounded by those whose lives she had impacted the most--her children and grandchildren.
Sharon was the second born to Leland Zook & Suzann Kent on August 1, 1949, in Richland, Washington. During her childhood years, she lived in Castle Rock Co; Colorado Springs, Co; Woodland Park, Co; Galt Ca; Paradise Ca; Petaluma Ca & finally Bakersfield Ca, where she graduated from West High school in 1967. She met her husband, Gary Polston, shortly after she graduated from HIgh School. They have 4 beautiful children together.
She put herself through nursing school; graduating from Bakersfield College in 1979. She spent the next 30+ years working as a nurse throughout California, Colorado, and Utah. Upon completion of full-time nursing career, she quickly returned to the vagabond lifestyle of her youth, travelling around the country to care for her family & friends and seek new adventures. She volunteered as a nurse for the Red Cross soon after the 9/11 attacks in New York and during the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also visited Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hawaii, Iceland, Italy, The Netherlands, and Switzerland. Sharon was a Faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the last 46 years of her life. She was often found on her knees talking with her Heavenly Father, whom she loved and served with all of her heart, mind, might and strength.
She was the salt of the earth and lived a very humble life. Inherently optimistic, she found beauty, hope, and a reason for gratitude amidst all experiences of her life. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her mother Sue Brown, brother Troy (Ana) Zook, sister Louise (Bill) Ray, brother -in-law Fred Mills. Children Tony Polston, Scott (Amy) Polston, Ixchelle (Troy) Waite and Jill Polston. Including Eleven grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
