IN LOVING MEMORY OF

December 10, 1990 – February 20, 2026
Sean Michael O'Leary, lovingly known as "Seany Guy," passed away on February 20, 2026, in Bakersfield, California. Born on December 10, 1990, in Bakersfield, Sean brought joy and light to all who knew him throughout his 35 years.
Sean was the cherished son of John and Lois O'Leary and the beloved brother of Katie O'Leary (Nick Weeks) and Ryan O'Leary. He was also a proud uncle to his nephew, Kallum Weeks. His family takes comfort in knowing that Sean is now in the arms of Jesus. Sean loved the Lord Jesus and gave his life to Christ many years ago.
Sean's early years were spent in Bakersfield, where he attended Harding Elementary School, Compton Junior High School, and Highland High School. A talented athlete, Sean participated in football, basketball, baseball, and golf during his school years. His passion for sports continued as he attended Bakersfield College for two years, playing football for both seasons. Sean then transferred to Fresno State University, where he earned a degree in criminology and contributed to the Fresno State football team's success as they won the Mountain West Championship in 2012.
After completing his education, Sean returned to Bakersfield and worked in the family business for several years before finding his true calling as an educator. For the past five years, he served as a substitute teacher with the Bakersfield City School District, primarily teaching physical education. Sean's kind heart and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike.
Sean had an extraordinary ability to make everyone he met feel valued and appreciated. His warm spirit and genuine kindness were a source of inspiration to those around him. He was a shining light in the lives of his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Sean's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 10:30 AM at Valley Bible Fellowship, located at 2300 East Brundage Lane in Bakersfield. A reception will follow the service.
