Saundra (Sandy) Lynn Rich
1952 - 2019

Our most beloved red-headed Sandy, 66, took the Lord's hand and passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2019 from heart complications.

She was born to the late Johnny and June Womack-Shepherd at Mercy Hospital, Bakersfield, California.

Sandy had a wonderful childhood with sweet memories that only the 1950 - 60's could allow such as: roller skating, hoppy taw, birdie and worms, silly putty, Barbie dolls, Cowboy and Indians, slinkys, and Duncan Yo-Yos. She graduated from North High School in 1970 and also attended Bakersfield College. Her special gift was English and a knack for speaking French.

She worked as a Librarian Assistant at East Bakersfield High School for a few years. Sandy married Stanley Ray Rich on August 2, 2002 , and soon moved to the Shasta California area with their beloved Sissy dog. She worked in the hospitality industry. After retiring, they moved back to Bakersfield to be closer to family.

She enjoyed humor, Mickey Mouse, animals, coin purses, adult coloring, collecting vintage hankies, reading and working in the garden. Sandy loved to share her personal relationship with Jesus.

Sandy will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband Stanley Ray Rich, her children: Julie Boyd, Kyle and Sarah Zimmerman, Jonathon and Matthew Hunter; Grand children: Jalen Churchwell, Jersey and Drew Zimmerman, and Rylie Hunter; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her sister Susan Tharp.

Memorial Services to celebrate her life and to share your stories of remembrance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, from 11 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Grace Assembly North located at 1510 McCray Street. Major Darvin Carpenter from the Salvation Army, Pastor Walter Arvizu, and Pastor Russell Duke from Grace Assembly will officiate.

We rejoice that Sandy is now snuggling up with Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
