Sam F. Mitchell

Born in Lexington, KY to Cecil L. and Vivian E. (Reed) Mitchell. Sam attended local schools in Kentucky. He later served our Country, in the United States Navy.

He has been a resident of Kern County for nearly four decades. As a shop foreman, he met and enjoyed the company of many in the Agriculture community. Those that know Sam, know that his family are his world.

On the afternoon of Wednesday June 24th, Sam passed from this life - surrounded by his family and with his beloved wife Dawn, at his side.

Sam is survived by; his wife of 29 years Dawn, Daughter Destiny Charles. Grandchildren; Austin Charles (fiancee Cindy), Elizabeth Charles, Abigail Blake and Xavier Ferraiuolo.

A special thanks to Hoffman Hospice, for the compassion and care that has been provided to Sam during his illness.

A public Visitation is scheduled for Monday June 29, 2015 from 2 - 5 p.m. With the Funeral Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Kern River Family Chapel 1900 N. Chester Ave. Bakersfield, CA.

Formal Military Honors - will be presented to the family at a later date.
