Robert Lee Charles

November 6, 1936 — October 13, 2012

Robert Lee Charles born November 6, 1936 passed on October 13, 2012. Bob is survived by his wife Connie, children Deb Charles, Rob Charles and Shannon Charles-Ray, daughter in law Regina Trotter and son in law Tom Ray; grandchildren, Buddy Layport, Bonnie Layport-Anderson, Rhandie Layport, Mackay Acosta, Levi Ray and Logan Ray. He is also survived by his twin brother Bill, brothers Tom and Gene, and his sister Vickie.
Bob retired from Pacific Bell after 30 years of loyal service and during his retirement, he was a consultant for Thomas and Betts. Throughout his life, Bob was passionate about the great outdoors; fishing, golfing, scuba diving, camping and playing on the Kern River. But, of all the things Bob enjoyed most, none could compare to the times he spent with his family. Bob did not much care what the goings on were as long as he was able to be in the middle of the fun.
Bob was a patriot and loved his country. He was proud of his membership in the Tea Party and he never forgot the give his thanks to veterans for their service.
Bob loved his family with a love that was palpable and was never short on words when it came to bragging on each of them.
For those who knew him, he will be greatly missed. For those who loved him, his absence will leave a void that will never be filled.
