Richard C. Barker

Dad, Richard Charles Barker, passed away on November 16, 2025 at the age of 94. He closed his eyes for the final time with mom by his side. Dad was born 8/12/31 to Ray and Esther Barker, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Betty Rae Mattoon. Dad is survived by his loving wife Nancy, whom he loved dearly. They met in Taft, Ca. and went on to get married in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 23, 1954, they we married for 71 yrs. Dad is also survived by his daughter Renee (Dave), son Robert (Annetta). Richard had 6 Grand Kids (Casee, T.J, Aimee, Darnell, Tiffany, Anthony) and 17 Great Grandkids (Christopher, McKenzee, Alexandra, Kyndall, Kylie, Kynadee, Cooper, Blake, Jillian, Beau, Tommy, Sullivan, Haley, Nathan, Lilli, Brooklyn) and 3 great grandkids (Easton & Enzo & Crew).

He worked for Chevron for 35 years, retiring in1992. After retirement they purchased a motorhome and traveled with a crew of friends around the US & Canada. Dad had a rule, no travel on Sundays. This was because his NASCAR races were on, it was a Sunday ritual. Dad was a loving and involved Popo, he loved to see the kids when they came to visit over the years. Dad you will be missed beyond words, but we know you are watching over us free of pain and are enjoying getting to visit with those that left too soon. We love you and will continue to take care of Grammy as you would expect us to. This is not goodbye, it is ‘we’ll see you later’! No Services are planned.
