Rhonda Hancock Thomas
August 18, 1962 - December 30, 2020

Rhonda Ann Thomas, 58, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side
on December 30, 2020, after a battle with metastatic lung cancer.

Rhonda was born in Wasco, CA, on August 18, 1962, to parents Ronald and Mary
Hancock. She was born 37 minutes before her cousin Ricky Snow, and their mothers
were some of the first to deliver in the North Kern Hospital. Rhonda formed a strong
union with her cousin Timmy Patterson, from the time she was very young to her death.
Rhonda, Timmy, and Sharon Morley were like the three musketeers. They shared many
adventures together and long conversations. Rhonda enjoyed participating in FFA
showing lambs while in high school. As an adult, she enjoyed karaoke with family and
friends. Rhonda was a nocturnal person who came to life at 4 pm.

Rhonda was blessed with a daughter from her first marriage, Rian Hall, who was the
apple of her eye. Seven years later she was blessed with a second daughter, Cory
Thomas (her favorite if you ask her), from her second husband. Rhonda loved her
daughters with all of her heart. Although she loved her daughters immensely, her life
was truly fulfilled with the birth of her grandson Christopher Brill. Chris would often sing
“You are My Sunshine” to his Roro, a name chosen by Rhonda. Her daughters cared for
her and were by her side during her battle with cancer. They were able to have great
conversations and shared memories during this time.

Rhonda worked for H & H Automotive, a family owned business, as an office manager.
Next, she worked for Typing Express, where she met her best friend Kim Foster. After
leaving Typing Express, she began her career at the Department of Corrections as a
Case Records Technician where she made everlasting friendships and worked up until
her death.

Rhonda is survived by her parents Ronald and Mary Hancock, brother Robert Hancock
(Brenda), sister-in-law Terri Hancock, daughters Rian Hall and Cory Thomas Brill
(Aaron), grandson Christopher Brill, niece Calli Hancock, and nephews James, Timothy
and Seth Hancock. She was preceded in death by her brother Randy Hancock.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date.
