Mike Silas left this world to be with our, Heavenly Father, October 7th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lester Silas and Leta Faye Wise and his brother William "Bill" Silas. He is survived by his wife, Janice Loveless Silas, Sons, Michael and Cheryl Silas, Robert and Elizabeth Silas, and Stuart Silas. Sisters, Carolyn and Stan Smith, Margaret Silas, and Rosie and George VeVea. Mikes Grandchildren, Vincent Cottrell, Zachary Harrison, Nathaniel Sherin, Chelsea, Caleb, Leah, Seth, and Evan Silas. Also, many nephews and nieces.

Mike met and fell in love with his lovely wife, Janice in high school. After his honorable service in the United States Navy, Mike and Janice wed. With 47 years of marriage and three healthy sons, Mike completed a full life.

Mike was known well throughout the community for his Custom Upholstery business. He loved his work and the many friends he made throughout his 50 year career. His oldest son, Michael, has the honor to carry on the family business. Mike was also an avid gambler. State Line and the El Cortez in Las Vegas were his home away from home.

Mike loved his children and grandchildren whole heartily. The best memory for the grandkids was "Gramps" great ability to make awesome paper airplanes and his goofy sense of humor.

Although Mike's passing was unexpected, his family holds dear his memory and has found solace that he is no longer in pain and celebrates enteral life in Heaven.

Viewing will be held Saturday, October 17th, 10-10:45 a.m., Memorial 11-11:30 a.m., Kern River Family Mortuary, 1900 North Chester, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
