Mary Moore

Mary Ann was born July 6, 1935, in Bakersfield, California, to Louis and Irene Emery. She had two sisters, Beverly and Margie. She attended Bakersfield High School and enjoyed playing saxophone in the Driller Band and serving on the student counsel. She graduated in 1953 and attended Bakersfield College. She married James Moore in 1957 and had one daughter, Brenda Moore.
She was the leader of the Kern County 4-H Guide Dog Club for 15 years and enjoyed working with her 4-H family. She worked at the First Presbyterian Church nursery for 28 years. She loved the children and their parents and had so many wonderful memories of her time there. She retired last year at 80 years of age.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Beverly Hunt. She is survived by sister Margie Smith and husband Randy, brother in law Thomas Hunt, daughter Brenda Moore, granddaughters Veronica and Jenny Moore, great grandson Jonathan Chan, and four nieces and nephews. She was an avid reader and sudoku player, loved children and animals and enjoyed traveling with her family. She was deeply loved and she will be sorely missed.
A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10 A M.
