Marilyn K. Sawyer

Marilyn (Peanut) Sawyer was born in Bakersfield, CA on February 21, 1944. She passed peacefully at her home in Bakersfield on May 10, 2022.
Peanut, as she was known by family, was known for family favorite recipes that will live on through her grandchildren. She was an avid bowler in her younger years and enjoyed a good card game with family and friends. Peanut could sew and made many handmade things over the years for her family.
Marilyn, as she was known by co-workers, retired after 38 years from the Fruitvale School District as a School Librarian. Her co-workers have said that she did so much more than just library duties. She was always there to help school staff with whatever needs there were.
Peanut leaves behind her children: Wendi Welker, Michael Welker & Brett Sawyer, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be at the Bakersfield Elks Lodge, 1616 30th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301 on May 30, 2022, at 11:00am.
