Mardella Martha Woodward

November 18, 1941 — September 28, 2012

Della Martha Woodward (Bics),
age 70, Bakersfield, Ca.

Born on November 18, 1941 in North Dakota. Della went to be with the Lord after losing her battle with cancer on September 28, 2012. She passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her loving family. Della was preceded in death by her parents, six of her siblings, and many dear friends. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted family which includes her two daughters, Evelyn Hale (husband Ray), and Chris Titus (husband Dan). Her grandchildren: Heather (husband Mike), Trisha (husband Travis), Jamie (fiancé Miguel), Stacy, Johnny, Ashley, Brian, Joshua, and Autumn (boyfriend James). Also want to include Shon he was like a grandson to her. Nana is greatly missed by her great-grandchildren which include: Steevie, Codie, Jazz, Jr., RayLyn, Ashlyn, Anthony, J.R., Maeleigh, and Dakota. Her two brothers John Bics (wife Jean) and Raymond Bics (Wife Barbara) along with 13 nieces and nephews local and abroad.
Della loved life. She enjoyed the simple things and did what made her happy. Her interests were simple but included cross-stitching, reading, playing on her computer, writing letters, listening to music, soaking up nature, and watching DIY and cooking shows. The thing she enjoyed most in life was being a Nana. She would make goodies for every occasion and loved seeing/hearing the kid’s smiles when she handed/mailed them out. She always looked forward to the next family gathering whether it was a BBQ, holiday, or a birthday party. It didn’t matter what it was, she wanted to be there and would come with a smile. She would always say that there was something unique about each one of her grandkids that she loved so much. She was a very proud Nana. One thing is for sure about Della, anything that she did for anyone was filled with love and laughter. She will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Words cannot express our family’s loss. Nana we just want you to know if you were anyone else’s Mom or Nana we would have been jealous. Nana we love you this much!
