Fern McNabb (Gazaway, Blackmon) Dec. 14, 1929 to Dec. 6, 2016

Fern McNabb 86, passed away early Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 2016 in Bakersfield CA. She was born in Altus Oklahoma and the family moved to California during the Great Depression. She graduated from Bakersfield High School.
As a child of the Depression, Fern learned quickly the virtues of hard work and the value of family. She was a proud “Okie” and loved to tell stories about picking cotton to help the Family during those difficult times. Family and friends were always her top priority and she was always available for help when needed.
Fern leaves behind her Husband, Earl and Son Gerry Blackmon and Wife Georgi. She is also survived by Brothers Findley Gazaway, Dar Hourigan and Marv Hourigan and Wife Erlinda. Also Grandchildren Rick Blackmon and Wife Angie, and Jennifer Gustafson and Husband Danny, five Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her Mother Lottie Bosley.
