Larry was born on November 19 1925 to Glen E. and Mae I (Noel) Lyon in Reward, California Larry lived first five years of his life in Reward and McKittrick then moved to Ford City. Larry attended Taft schools. Larry like to fish, roller skate, bowling, and playing golf. He also played a little softball in his early years. He met and married Mary Ann Parsons in 1952. He retired from Mobil Oil Corp. after 40 years. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Glen Everett Lyon and Mae Irene (Noel) Lyon, brothers Wallace and Dale and sisters Arlene and Thelma.

Larry is survived by his wife Mary Ann Parsons Lyon of 61 years, daughter Karen and husband Charles Dickinson of Sparks, Nevada, son Dennis Lyon and wife Melanie of Taft. Grandchildren Amber and husband Colin Dowling of Sparks Nevada, Danial Dickinson and his wife Brenda of Vacaville, Tabetha Lyon, Baylie Lyon and Shayden Lyon, Josh, Karl, Jamie, and Christie Roger all of Taft; great grandchildren Kimberly Dickinson , Christopher Flippen , Kaiyla Dowling, Kylee Dickinson, Jonothan Dowling and Jasmine and Trenton Rigby; three sisters Marylou Dopita of Taft, Glenda Claiborne and husband Ken of Bakersfield, Donna Fowler of Bakersfield and one brother Rev. Gerald Lyon of Taft and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Petroleum Club, June15, 2013 from Noon to Three pm. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the West Kern Oil Museum for the Midway Cemetery restoration fund.
