Karen's dad took a job in Bakersfield when she was around 7 years old. Karen attended local schools and was proud to be a BHS "Driller". After school, she often would stop at Dewar's for an ice cream treat while walking home.
She married Robert Earl Miller on June 19th, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, following his service in the Air Force. They had been married for 64 years at the time of his passing.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Darlene Nielsen, her brother, La Marr Nielsen, and her husband, Robert Miller.
