June was born in Fresno, California to William and Elbe Walker.
She lived over half her life in the Kern River Valley. She was very involved in the community. She was an elder and chairwoman for the K.V.I.C. She worked tirelessly for over 30 years to get Federal recognition for her Paiute Tribe. She was a member of the K.V. golden Girls, K.V. She was Instrumental in getting plaques on rocks depicting Yokut language along the Kern River Bike Path, as well as planting trees in Yokuts Park in honor of Native American members. She was very proud of her heritage and proud to say she was Paiute Indian. During her life she worked as a waitress at the Cozy Corner and retail clerk at Primos. In her later years she was a caregiver to the elderly.
She was a very giving person, always ready to help those less fortunate than herself.

For the past 5 years she enjoyed meeting with cousins and friends the second Thursday of every month. They were known as the Birthday Girls. She was very proud to be part of 5 generations. Her life’s passion was working on getting her tribe federal recognition.
She married John Price and had 5 children, Nancy, Sharon, Jack, Jimmy and Nick.
June is survived by her brother Robert “Bud” Walker and his wife Janice.
