Helen Aileen Sidner

Helen Sidner went to be with the Lord June 26, 2014 at her home in Bakersfield, CA. She was born in Aurelia, Iowa and lived in Bakersfield for the past 62 years.

Helen worked for many years as a switchboard operator. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was actively involved with the local VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth H. Sidner and her son Raymond J. Grens. She is survived by her daughters Mary E. Sawyer and Patricia J. McDonald, son in law Mark McDonald, and stepson Randy K. Sidner; grandchildren Aileen Miller, Suetta McManus, Rae Fleming, Raymond Grens Jr, Cas Knight, Brian Sidner, Michael Sidner, Christine Sidner, Eric McDonald, and Nicholas McDonald; as well as nine great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, 11:00am, First United Methodist Church, 4600 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hoffman Hospice, www.hoffmanhospice.org
