Fredrick Adolph Paggi went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ December 29, 2023 in Bakersfield, CA. He died peacefully at home with family by his side. He was 87.
Fred was born September 11,1936 to Moses and Agnes Belezzuoli Paggi in Tipton, CA.
He was raised on the family farm along with his brother Richard. He attended Tipton Elementary School, where he performed at his graduation with his band Fred Paggi and His Silly Snickers, Featuring Chuck Hutchinson-Barely-a-tone. He was a graduate of Tulare Union High School Class of 1955 where he played football and was active in FFA. Fred also served in the Army National Guard.
Fred married his high school sweetheart, Arvilla Webb on September 29, 1956. They made their home in Tulare where they raised their 3 children. Arvilla passed away May 7, 2001, just shy of their 45th wedding anniversary.
Fred spent most of his life in the Tipton and Tulare area where he had gas stations in both towns. He also worked as a cotton ginner in Tipton and at Kaweah Delta Cooperative Gin in Waukena until his retirement. He then got his Real Estate License and worked beside Arvilla at Premiere Real Estate until her passing.
Fred loved watching his grandchildren play sports whether it was softball, baseball or basketball. He also helped coach his son's baseball teams in Little League. He enjoyed hunting and trap shooting with his son, son in law and his close-knit group of friends. In his younger days he enjoyed going to the mountains backpacking on horseback.
In 2002 Fred moved to Bakersfield to marry Sherree Degiuli. He attended and served at Canyon Hills Church, Faith Builders Sunday School Class and his small group. He really enjoyed working alongside Curtis, Norm and Mac repairing and doing projects throughout the church campus and Florence Gardens Senior Housing. Besides their hard work, you would find them all napping in their chairs with the garage door down after lunch. He also volunteered next to Sherree at the Welcome Lunches, hosting Connection Corner and working at Cityserve from its start. Often you could find him on a forklift, or doing whatever needed to be done.
Fred loved to travel, and he and Sherree went on some amazing trips in the last 21 years. His favorite place to go was Lake Tahoe where he went twice a year for the last 60 years. He also loved going to Hawaii, Alaska, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Fred was a good cook, known for his amazing pasta sauce and always enjoyed cooking for friends and family.
