Edward James Carmichael, 65 years old, died on April 6, 2024 peacefully at home. Eddie was a kind Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Cousin. A member of the Golden Empire Mustang Club and known as Fast Eddie. He was born in King City, California on February 16, 1959 to Richard 'Dick' Carmichael and Doris Miner. Baby sister, Laura Carmichael died 2 months old 1962. Then Carmichael's moved to Fresno, California and opened Dick's Automotive Repair Shop. Dick race Midgets and Hard Top cars. Little Eddie learned to race Quarter Midgets with his father Dick. Eddie learned skills in automotive repair, only to lose his father to a Race car crash in 1966 in Chico, California. His love for racing never faded. His mother Doris re-married years later to Allen Baker and they moved from Fresno to mountain community of Prather, California. Eddie race moto-cross with his brother Michael Carmichael and stepdad Al took them all over the state. Ed and wife Susan moved to Bakersfield the summer of 1979 for his 45 year welding career. Eddie continued to race stock car, Pro-mod at Bakersfield Speedway, Madera, and Santa Maria. Eddie raced his Mustang at Willow Springs and Kern Raceway. Eddie passed down his racing skills in his children on motorcycles and quad-motorcycles. Fourth generation racers; Richard, Shannon won many championships and Raymond raced right alongside of his sister. His love for outdoors engaged in all the fun camping trips with family and friends.

Eddie leaves behind his Children: Richard A. Carmichael, Shannon M. Carmichael, Raymond J. Carmichael, and Tomas Medina. Grand Children: Lucas Badowski, Jr., Kaitlyn Carmichael, Colin Badowski, Calvin Badowski, Aiden Carmichael, and Violet Medina. Siblings; Brenda Carmichael, Michael Carmichael, Sister-in-Law Natalie Hogue, and stepbrother Ricky Baker. Niece & Nephew; Jason De La Cruz, Theresa Carmichael, Ricky Baker, Jr.

Eddie was loved and respected by many that called him his friend. Eddie was a great dad who was loved by his children.

Papa will be missed by his grandchildren. Calvin still wants to go fishing with you Papa. Eddie never met a stranger and always lived life to the fullest. Eddie you are now with your Dad and Grandpa racing in the
