Diane Louise Sterling, 78, passed away on September 05, 2021. She was born to William Berry and Georgia Wunderlich (Thompson) in Bakersfield, California on April 18, 1943. Diane was proudly raised in Oildale where she graduated from North High School in 1961 and later received a degree from Bakersfield College. During her life time Diane worked as a security guard at an Army ammunition base in Nevada. Then as a house manager for Lloyd's Liberty Homes in Bakersfield where she took care of mentally handy capped women. Later she went to work for Kern County Mental Health as a case manager until she retired in 2010. She was passionate about helping people who have trouble helping themselves. Diane attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oildale. She loved God and her family as well as her church family. Diane is preceeded in death by her parents William and Georgia, brother Bob Berry, and Grandson Ryan Noel Bock (her heart and soul). She is survived by her three children Tina Sheaffer (Buddy) of West Virginia, Wayne McDaniel, and Catherine Bock both of Bakersfield. A Celebration of life will be held on October 22, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oildale at 612 Sharon Place, with a potluck following the service.
