David Ren Fergie

David "Ren" Fergie, 63, who resided in Bakersfield, CA passed away early May 1, 2014 at the Bakersfield Heart Hospital.

Ren was born in British Columbia, Canada on August 28, 1950. The family moved to California in 1961 where Ren resided until he joined the Army in 1968. He served in Korea, Germany, and served as a Drill Sergeant, Instructor, and Army Recruiter. He retired from the Army in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona after 24 years of dedicated service. He joined the Army Calvary in Ft. Huachuca where he participated in many different service roles, as well as rode in the Rose Bowl Parade for three years. He then went to work for the state of Arizona as a job trainer. Once retired from the state, Ren volunteered for the Sun City Sheriffs Posse for five years in Arizona. He was a proud member of the Hiram Daylight Masonic Lodge #73, Shriners both in Phoenix, AZ; the Moose Lodge of Bakersfield, CA.

He is survived by one daughter, Megan Fergie, of Richmond, KY; one granddaughter, Karlie Johnson of Richmond, KY; his mother, Margaret Thompson La Rosa of Bakersfield, CA; one brother, Ron (Doris) Fergie of Boise, ID; one sister, Rerry (John) Welch of Pocatello, ID; and one stepsister, Crystal Ridley of Bakersfield, CA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Fergie; his father, Vic Fergie; his stepfather, Joey La Rosa; and his brother, Ross Fergie.

Arrangements have been made by the Kern River Family Mortuary. There will be no services in Bakersfield, CA. Ren will be laid to rest, by his family, at 2:00pm Tuesday May 13, 2014in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Road Phoenix, AZ.
