David Lee Sanson

David “Dave” Lee Sanson, 82, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021 in Bakersfield. He had retired to Pine Mountain Club with his beloved wife, Shirley, before moving to Bakersfield. Dave was born to proud parents Emily Heitman and Don Requa Sanson on December 29, 1938, in Glendale, California. He spent most of his childhood and young adulthood in Southern California, graduating from Glendale High School. In 1975 he relocated with his own young family to Marin County. Dave majored in business administration at the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his life, he was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, always putting his family first. Dave worked for many years in Public Relations and Communications before his retirement in PMC. Together, he and Shirley fully enjoyed their mountain life, feeding the birds, watching the sunset and spending time in the garden. Dave is survived by his son Randy Sanson, daughter-in-law Denise Sanson of Santa Cruz, CA, and his four grandsons, Matthew, Ryan, James, and Thomas. He is also survived by his daughter Debbie Mathieu, son-in-law Phillipe Mathieu and his two granddaughters, Mischa and Claire. Dave will always be remembered for his dedication to God, the love he had for his family and his boisterous laugh that could be heard across any room. We will miss you, Grandpa!
