David Allen Diepen Septemeber 30, 1952 - June 10, 2013 David Allen ascended to Heaven early Monday morning. He was born in Shelby, Michigan September 30, 1952 to Emma A. Purcell and John H. Diepen. He is preceded in death by his father John Diepen and stepfather Jessie W. Purcell. He is survived by his love Debbie; mother Emma A. Purcell; stepmother Pat Diepen; two sisters Shirley M. Diepen and Diane D. Hopkins; one brother John R. Diepen; six children Jesse A. Diepen, Shannon L. Lewis, John A. Diepen, Gregory A. Mendez, Jennifer L. Phillips and Gary E. Mendez Jr. David also left behind seven grandchildren. David graduated Muskeegen High in 1969 at the age od 17. In his young adulthood David worked as a salesman for insurance agencies and Warner cable. The last 15 years he worked through banks and insurance agencies a private contractor. In 2009 he started his own process serving business "Big Dogs Legal Process SVC." David was an intelligent, wise, hardworking man that was there for his family anytime they needed him. He had the most unique personality and those who knew and loved him would often say that he spoke metaphorically, He had many silly sayings that will be remembered. If David said he was going to do something he would do it. David enjoyed outdoors, hunting and working on cars. Yearly David took a trip to Las Vegas to enjoy the atmosphere and visit Noel, a close friend. He also spent time with other close friends at Hickerosa Ranch. The last few years he also took pleasure in watching Jennifer's softball team play. He spent the last year enjoying his favorite shows from his childhood, The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers. David was competitive and enjoyed gaming with Debe and his grandson, Garrett. We will always love him and remember his smile. The family would like to thank the staff of San Joaquin Community Hospital, Dr. N. Henein, and Hoffmann Hospice. A Celebration of David's life will be held at the Riverview Church of Christ, 241 E. Roberts Ln, on Saturday, June 22nd. at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hoffmann Hospice.
