Dan Earl Lamb
October 6, 1955 - May 29, 2015 Beloved husband, brother, father, and
grandfather Dan Earl Lamb returned to his heavenly
home on May 29, 2015 Dan was born on October 6,
1955 in Mesa, Arizona to Edwin Nathan Lamb and
Jennie (Bloomfield) Lamb. He was raised in Gilbert,
Arizona, where he first developed a love of agriculture
and harvesting. He served as a full-time missionary
for two years in the Boston, Massachusetts area for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He
returned home and married the love of his life Susan
Douglas on September 30, 1977. He later moved to
California and worked with Darwin Omdahl
Harvesting. He later obtained ownership of the
company which merged into Lamb Chops, Inc., a
harvesting business, in Bakersfield, California with
his brother, Keith Lamb. He loved spending time with
family, aviation, vacations to the sand dunes, golf, the
Bakersfield Jam basketball team, the Bakersfield Blaze
baseball team, evenings at the Kern County Raceway
Park, and working with and teaching youth. He always wanted what was best for
youth so they would have a better life. He was involved with the Bakersfield Flying
Club, AOPA, US Custom Harvesters, and other community organizations. He loved
people and maintained great relationships with all he came in contact with
throughout the world. He was a loving, compassionate, patient, and
understanding father, husband, and friend. By example, he taught his children the
value of hard work, compassion, and forgiveness. He loved his family dearly and
spent time with them as much as possible.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Ozelle Lamb, Betty Jean
Mortensen, and Sharon Shawver. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and their ten
children, Russell Lamb & Amber, Bradley Lamb & Reiko, Kristi Mackay & Devin,
Nathan Lamb & Leslie, Beverlee Reeves & Michael, Preston Lamb & Janis,
Cameron Lamb & Amanda, Garrett Lamb & Anna, Kimberlee Hollander &
Nicholas, Jennie Hafer & Walter; two sisters, Leola Skouson & John of Mesa, AZ
and Kova Lamb of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, Garth Lamb & Elaine of Gilbert, AZ,
Bryce Lamb & Jean of St. George, UT, and Keith Lamb & Mickey of Bakersfield, CA;
sixteen grandchildren, Alexis Lamb, Reagan Lamb, Caylee Lamb, Jaemie Lamb,
Chloe Lamb, Nora Mackay, Oliver Mackay, Thomas Mackay, Crystal Lamb,
Zachary Lamb, Zoee Reeves, Skylar Reeves, Justin Lamb, Rylee Lamb, Aubree
Lamb, Levi Lamb; and many extended family members. Dan was loved by many
and will truly be missed dearly. Until we meet again, we love you.
Services will be held in his honor on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:00 am, with
visitation from 9:00am until the service time, at The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, 2801 S. Real Rd., Bakersfield, CA.
