Cori Cook

d. July 21, 2021

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the unexpected death of Corliss (Cori) Jean Cook - beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Cori was born November 16, 1947 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Mary Corliss Kilbee and Eugene Hershel Marshall. She is survived by two sisters, Karen and Sheryl and a brother, Eugene. Her sister, Glenna, died the same day Cori did and we would like to think that they went on together, glad of each others' company. Cori's children Jose Louis Navarro and Miguel A. Navarro also survive her as do four precious grandchildren - Almitra Soyala Navarro, Ozias Louis Navarro, Elio Maschler-Navarro and Anton Mashler-Navarro.

Married to Danny Raymond Cook in 2007, Cori and Danny were devoted friends as well as husband and wife. Joined in their devotion to their church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cori served as a Visiting Teacher, a Sunday School teacher and a Primary Teacher. Loving to sing, she was active in Stake and Ward choirs in both Bakersfield and the San Fernando Valley for many years. She also participated in a monthly service at a convalescent hospital with her friend, Norma Pele, until she moved to Bakersfield.

Cori had a huge heart - always willing to help a friend or family member and with a special place in her heart for the homeless. She was a unique and eccentric personality with a fabulous memory for experiences and good times shared and could be counted on when asked to perform some favor or service for her family and friends. We loved her and were always happy to see her and we will miss her goodness and sweetness.

Viewing will begin 9 a.m on Saturday August 7 , 2021 with the funeral to follow at 11 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 851 Monica St. Bakersfield , Ca . The burial will be private.
