Clyde Lou Lane born Jan 16, 1950- February 18, 2026. Born in Corcoran, Ca. to Ernest (Sammy) and Jessie Lane. He was the oldest of five siblings, Naomi, Vonda, Valerie, Danny and Steven. Clyde had five children, Trina, Forrest, Samuel, Tabbitha and Samantha.

Clyde moved with his family to Bakersfield when he was a child. He attended Rosedale Union School, now known as Rosedale Middle. After which he attended Bakersfield High school. During his teenage years, he moved to Klamoth Falls Oregon for a short while working with his favorite uncle Earl, who owned a truck stop. Clyde adored his uncle who taught him how to work and be a man. While in Oregon his first daughter Trina was born. Trina later gave Clyde his first grand babies, two girls, Brittany and Mckenzie. Then was blessed with a great granddaughter Arabella by Brittany.

Clyde eventually moved back to Bakersfield where he worked for Smithers & Sons for approximately seven years. His next and last job would be the oilfields, working for Golden State Drilling. He worked his way up to being tool pusher. He trained many men to do their job there. Clyde was truly respected and was the best in his trade. He loved his company, Golden State, and they loved him. He retired in 2009 after working 30+ years and still maintained a relationship with the owners and considered them family.

During his years at Golden State, Clyde had 2 boys, Forrest and Samuel. The boys grew up in Rosedale and even went to the same school as their dad, Rosedale Middle. They also attended the same Cub Scout troup as their dad, Troup # 47. Samuel eventually gave Clyde another granddaughter, Julia.

In 1995, Clyde finally met the love of his life, Ona Mears. They enjoyed many hobbies together. In the early year's, you could see the two of them on the Harley! They both love to garden and had the biggest best gardens ever. All friends and family benefitted! The SanFrancisco 49rs were a mutual love and they even attended Candlestick Park before it was closed! In 2010, to everyone's surprise, Tabitha and Samantha joined the family! Clyde and Ona adopted the two girls and raised them as their own. Tabbitha blessed Clyde with two grand babies, Charlotte and Alexander. Samantha has a grandson on the way. The girls joined 4H which started a whole new hobby. Clyde was on the rabbit committee at the Kern County fair where he hauled in feed for all the kids rabbits. He also served on the poultry committee where he and Ona started fund raising for the kids awards by " taking your picture with

baby chicks" which was very popular and a lot of fun!

Clyde loved the Lord! He served in many capacities. At Valley Baptist he drove the Tram on Sunday mornings until his health declined. When you rode the tram with Clyde driving he would say you got an "E ticket ride". He would tell his riders what the sermon was about that morning and let everyone know if they came back on Wednesday, what was for dinner! He went above and beyond! Speaking of Wednesday night dinner, Clyde joined the kitchen staff at Valley where he became "The cut-up guy". He prepared the salad bar every Wednesday as long as his health allowed. During the pandemic Clyde and Ona got involved with the food ministry at Coronado Baptist church. They helped many people who's jobs where effected by the pandemic. Too many trailer loads of food to those in need to count. In fact, they never stopped. It became a permanent ministry in their lives. Clyde also joined "Influencers

of Bakersfield Journey for men" where he drew closer to the Lord than ever before. Clyde was serving the Lord right up until his end on this earth.

Clyde was such a unique soul. He had a way of making people feel special. He always showed up when it mattered most. He believed in hard work, he would say " A man should only have to work a half of a day, choose whatever 12 hours you wish". Though he is with Jesus now, the lessons he taught and the love he shared will continue to guide those who knew him.

Services will be held at Valley Baptist Church on 4800 Fruitvale ave on March 23, eleven am. Reception immediately following at the church.
