Cecil Edward Krieger Sr., age 79, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on April 27, 2026. He lived a life marked by service, hard work, and deep love for his family.

Cecil was born on August 18, 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969 and continued his service in the reserves until 1971. During his time in the Air Force, he worked as a mechanic on the B-52 aircraft, playing an important role in maintaining one of the nation’s most vital planes.

Following his military service, Cecil continued his career as a mechanic and truck driver in the oil fields, where he was known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. Beyond his work, he was best known for his sense of humor, his love of telling jokes, and the kindness he showed to everyone around him. He had a way of making people smile and feel at ease, and his warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Above all, Cecil was a devoted family man. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Pamela Krieger; his daughter and son-in-law, Ted and Christine Lopez; his grandchildren, Hailey Lopez, Malia Lopez, Mathew Krieger, Zachary Krieger, Brendan Krieger, and Billy Krieger; and his great-granddaughters, Zinnyalei and Eevee Krieger.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Greta Krieger; his parents, Henry and Dorothy Krieger; and his nephew, Joseph Byrum.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Friday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Cecil’s life.

Cecil’s legacy of service, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
