Caroline S. Renfrow

Carolyn Sue Renfrow July 26, 1938 – April 24, 2026

Carolyn Sue Renfrow, a lifelong resident of Bakersfield, California, was born on July 26, 1938, to Eldridge Valentine Wilson and Hazel Maxine Wilson. She attended Standard School District and graduated from North High School in 1957, where she was a spirited song leader.

On June 15, 1957, the day after her high school graduation, Carolyn married her sweetheart, William Floyd Renfrow. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and commitment. They were blessed with two sons, Lance and Kevin.

Carolyn had a vibrant personality and genuinely cherished people. With her warm, joyful spirit, she wrapped packages at Brock’s Department Store and later cashiered at Dave’s Food Basket. Carol became an entrepreneur and opened Sweet and Sassy Dress Shop to share her delight for clothes, jewelry, and beauty with the community. After winning her battle with breast cancer, Carolyn’s care for the wellness of others led her to massage therapy and opening the Healing Arts Center.

Carolyn brought light and laughter to every gathering she attended. Her passion for travel was matched only by her zeal for spending time with her grandchildren and friends, attending church, cultivating her garden, playing Bunco, visiting the beauty shop, and making trips to the Los Angeles Garment District. Her warmth, humor, and vibrancy impacted all who crossed her path.

Carolyn faithfully worshipped the Lord and adored people deeply. Anyone who knew Carol, connected with her immediately. She made the best of every situation, smiled through thick and thin, and never complained. Carolyn carried herself with grace, strength, and sparkle. Her legacy of joy, faith, and unconditional love will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, and their families: William Floyd Renfrow, Lance and Denise Renfrow, and Kevin Renfrow. She was blessed with two grandchildren: Brittany and Brianna, and their husbands, Garett White and Eden Robby. Additionally, she has four great-grandchildren: Rowan, Temry, and Sienna White, and Blair Robby.
