November 21, 1978 — July 8, 2015

Candace departed this earth on July 8th, 2015 at 6:07pm, with her mother, father and sister by her side as they said goodbye one last time before she entered God's Kingdom.

Candace was born and raised in Bakersfield,CA. She attended Stockdale Christian School and Bakersfield High School prior to leaving for college. She received BA degrees from U.C. Irvine in International Studies and Dance, graduating with honors. She completed her education with a masters degree in Public Health from U.C.L.A.

Candace embraced life and continually challenged herself and her abilities. She was a scholar, an accomplished dancer and choreographer, artist, played the trumpet, excelled at Martial Arts, was crowned Miss Bakersfield in 2003 and was a spokesperson and advocate for stem cell research.

Candace loved to travel and explore foreign lands. While on a trip to China in 2002 she was stricken with the auto immune disease Neuromyelitis optica which resulted in her spending three weeks in a Hong Kong hospital before being escorted back to the United States. It was from that point on that Candace's life was altered. For the ensuing 13 years her brave spirit battled to overcome the debilitating effects of N.M.O.

God granted Candace the most precious of gifts on April 18, 2013 when she gave birth to her identical twin boys, Jude and Jack Coffee-Hanawalt. Candace loved her boys with all her heart and dedicated herself to ensure their well-being and happiness.
Candace impacted and touched many lives and her beautiful spirit and loving heart will always be with us.

Candace leaves behind her parents: Robert and Marsha Coffee, sons Jude and Jack Coffee-Hanawalt, sister Dominique Coffee Moseley and husband Bill Moseley, nieces and nephews Constanze, Robert, Gabrielle, Julian, Samara, Maya and Kai Moseley and extended family and friends.

Candace's family would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to the amazing and compassionate staff of the I.C.U. at Mercy Southwest Hospital.

Services are scheduled Saturday July 18, 2015 at Dove Creek Bible Church located at 5131 Office Park Drive, Bakersfield, CA. 93309. Time of the service is pending.
