Beverly Ann Platt Obituary
January 9TH, 1948-May 14TH, 2026
It is with profound sadness and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Beverly Ann Platt (Canfield) is now resting in her eternal heavenly home. She passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2026, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by the comforting presence of her daughters and grandchildren.
Beverly was born on January 9th, 1948, to Portia and Norman Canfield in Ogden, Utah. Beverly or Ann, as some people called her, lived a life defined by love, sacrifice, selflessness, and devotion to her family and friends. If she liked you or opened her home to you, then you were considered family. She was the HEART and SOUL of her family. Raising two daughters with wisdom, grace, patience, and unconditional love.
As a grandmother she was affectionately known as grandma, grams, or grandma Ann. She loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with trips to theme parks like Disneyland or Dollywood. She loved to shower them with gifts. Her favorite thing to say to all of her grandchildren was “I love you to the moon and back.” To this day they all have this fond memory of her.
Beverly had many hobbies coin collecting, music, singing, dancing, she loved to shop, she loved to bake, especially at Christmas her favorite holiday of the year. She loved to carry the traditions on from when her daughters were young baking Christmas cookies. She wanted to carry this tradition on with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved Hallmark Movies, Christmas or any season of Hallmark, she just loved them.
Beverly and John both had an unconditional love for animals, and they had many dogs and cats over the years building attachments to them all. Their pets were like their family and like their kids to them both.
Beverly built a vibrant life going to college and later dedicated over twenty years of her life and career doing taxes for many people all over California, including police officers, firefighters, and military personnel. She did both business and personal taxes for many friends and family. Beyond her professional achievements her true LEGACY lies in the family that she and John built and nurtured over the years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a loyal and trusted friend to many.
Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband John Platt, her parents Portia and Norman Canfield. Many brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She was of the Mormon faith. Beverly is survived by her two daughters Ronda (Charlie) Thomas-Frost of Mayfield, KY. Robin and Billy Danner of Bakersfield, CA. Eight grandchildren Andrew (Drew) Thomas, Coty Danner, Drake (Whitney) Thomas, Christene Danner, Daci Ann (Damon) Gilbert, Eric Danner, Seth Danner, and Desteni Thomas. Seven great-grandchildren Austin Thomas, Lily Ann Gilbert, Mila Gilbert, Liam Thomas, Alli Gilbert, Ozzy Thomas, and Chevy Thomas. Two sisters, two brothers, and a long-extended family.
Her Memory and Legacy will forever live on in the stories she shared, the lessons she taught, the memories she made, the love, strength, and wisdom that she gave to all so freely. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for the remarkable woman that she was. See details below.
