Barbara Lee Hill!June 7, 1935 - October 26, 2021

Barbara Lee Hill was born June 7, 1935 in Checotah, Oklahoma and was reunited with her husband in Heaven on October 26, 2021.!Mom was the youngest of 10 children born to James and Daisy Goins: Ruby, Joe, Margie, Maddie, Ruene, Earlene, Anzalene, Edgar, Bobbie.
While living in Checotah, she met and married Virgil Jernigan, and had 2 children, Patty and Michael. After a few years, the family moved to California looking for a better life.
In 1952, Mom met Raymond Hill, a tall handsome stranger with blue eyes and five children: Barbara Jean, Robert, Raymond, Caroline and Steven. Mom soon found herself married with seven children. They clearly had no idea where children came from, because Raymond and Barbara had 4 more children during the first eight years of married life, Susan, Richard, Timothy and Debbie.
Mom and Dad worked hard to raise their children. Mom brought in extra money by first working at Foster’s Freeze on Niles St, then working at the Holiday Inn as a waitress and banquet manager. She worked side by side with her favorite sister Bobbie, sons Richard and Tim, daughter Patty and daughter-in-law Julie. Those were some of her happiest work days. !In 1978, mom and dad started their own business, Hill’s Pipeline Construction, which allowed them to enjoy their later years.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, husband Raymond, daughters Barbara Jean and Patty, sons Steve and Raymond, grand children Terry, Blaine, Amy, Sarah, Devrie, and son-in-law Albert. She is survived by sons Robert, Michael (Robyn), Richard (Pam), Tim (Julie), daughters Caroline, Susan (Jennifer) and Debbie (Dino). She also leaves grandchildren Tracy, Tammy, Tony, Julie, Misty, Raymond, Shelley, Becky, Steven, Jeff, Jami, Christy, Shelby, Sierra, Brian, Kelly, April, Jake, Chris, Leanna, James and Romy, as well as many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and her special nieces.

Her Celebration of Life will be Friday Dec. 3rd at 10:30am at Hodel’s, lunch will follow at 11:00am (masks are required).
