Rowdy J. Gomez

June 22, 1976 — October 10, 2013

Rowdy J. Gomez (37) was born June 22, 1976 and passed away suddenly on October 10, 2013 in Bakersfield, Ca.

Rowdy was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Simon Gomez in 1993. He is survived by his wife Heidi Gomez (Ruggenberg); children Cody Gomez (17), Simon Gomez (10), and Camerzell Gomez (9) all of Bakersfield, Ca; father Raul Gomez of Lebec, Ca; Uncle Norman Simon (Deborah) of Frazier Park; Uncle John Snyder (Karen) of Gilroy, Ca; Aunt Lupe Laycook of Bakersfield, Ca; Aunt Connie Wiese of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; sister Shana Doverspike (Gale) of Bakersfield, CA; brothers Thomas Griffith and John Penning (Renee) of Lebec, Ca; Mom in his heart Melayne Mills of Avondale, Arizona; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family and in-laws that he loved.

Rowdy graduated Bakersfield High School in 1994 and the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #460 Apprenticeship Program in July 2006. He was a Journeyman Pipefitter in UA Local #460 Plumbers and Pipefitters and was the Procurement and Facilities Manager for ARB Inc. Bakersfield Division.

Rowdy was a dedicated man who loved life, his family and his job. His family was his world and he worked hard to take care of them. Rowdy, at times, seemed larger than life and touched many more people than he ever knew. He loved a good (or bad) joke and went out of his way to make people laugh. Music was his passion and he made sure to include and instill that in his children and everyone around him; often taking them to concerts, sharing music he loved or discussing new and old music that he had recently discovered. He spent countless hours helping his children excel in school and life; making sure friends and family were taken care of; attending IEP’s, workshops, providing therapies, and teaching life skills to his son Simon, who has Autism.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or to H.E.A.R.T.S Connection, an organization that he held dear to his heart.

Services to celebrate his life are still pending.
